Fairthorne Manor Residential Trip – A Memorable Adventure for Our Students

Last week, five of our students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a residential trip to Fairthorne Manor. This experience offered a much-needed chance to thrive outside of the classroom, unwind in a supportive environment, and fully immerse themselves in a variety of exciting and adventurous activities.

From climbing and kayaking to axe throwing, archery, bouncing on the giant pillow, and even making fire, each activity provided our students with a platform to explore their potential, challenge themselves in new ways, and most importantly—have fun.

Throughout the trip, it was clear to see the positive impact this experience had on every individual. Our students showed remarkable growth in their confidence, teamwork, and independence. For some, it was their first time away from home—an achievement in itself—while others took brave steps to try something completely out of their comfort zone. The supportive, inclusive setting allowed each student to feel valued and capable.

Staff and teachers were overjoyed to witness the transformation in the young people they work with every day. The laughter, shared challenges, and small moments of success all contributed to a deepened sense of connection and trust within the group. The improvement in general wellbeing was visible—students returned more relaxed, with a stronger sense of self and pride in what they had achieved.
This trip was not only a highlight of the term but also a meaningful reminder of how experiential learning and outdoor adventures can play a powerful role in personal development and emotional resilience. We are incredibly proud of the progress each student made and look forward to continuing to build on these successes back in school
