School was the one place I never wanted to be, the one place I always hid from, the one place I never saw myself being able to step foot in the classrooms are too small with too many children. They never explained to you. How one day you’re so excited to turn into secondary school and the next day we’ll try to hide from the day and the world. 18 months hiding from the world until one day I was forced back into school that actually knows me a school that knows what I’ve been through and knows how to help.

At the moment I am a student at Jubilee and it’s the first time I felt accepted. However, this isn’t how my education started. In my previous schools I was misunderstood, mistreated and frustrated. “Just don’t listen,” that’s what the teachers the people supposed to protect me, said when I was bullied. I was scared to walk into Jubilee but I’m glad I did, I never thought I would be able to feel safe in a school, but when I’m here, I feel at home. I had a one hundred step ladder to climb: I’m almost at the top step.
